RECEIPTS THAT LAND ON THE RIGHT JOB

A receipt photo is not job costing until the items have somewhere to go.

A camera roll full of receipts proves you bought something. It does not tell you which job paid for it, whether part of it was returned, or how much budget is left.

Scan, then verify

CostNota uses Apple on-device recognition to suggest the merchant, date, line-item names, quantities, unit prices, subtotal, tax, discounts, and total. You review and edit the result before saving. Receipt layouts vary, so the app does not pretend every scan will be perfect.

Keep the field record useful

After scanning, assign items to a job and category. Choose purchase or refund. If one checkout covered more than one project, split the line items instead of forcing the entire total onto one job.

Privacy on the jobsite

Recognition runs on the iPhone. CostNota requires no account and does not upload receipt images or OCR text to a CostNota server. Files leave the device only when you choose to export or share them.

Best fit

CostNota is for an owner-operator or small crew that wants a clean job-cost record without setting up a large accounting or project-management system. Your accountant can still handle the books; this keeps the missing field details from disappearing first.
